SB 223/LM (BR 2434) - D. Kelly
      AN ACT  relating to service records of military personnel.
     	Amend KRS 422.090 to permit any person who has recorded military discharge papers with the county clerk to withdraw the recording of the papers upon written or oral request; provide that previously filed discharge papers and copies of discharge papers shall be provided to the person who requests withdrawal; and provide that the county clerk shall also remove the name of the person from the index of recorded discharge papers. 
 
SB 223 - AMENDMENTS 
      SCA (1, D. Karem) - Retain provisions of original bill except remove language allowing withdrawal of the recording of military discharge papers upon oral request.
       SFA (2, D. Kelly) - Delete the original provisions; provide that a certified or attested copy of a veteran's discharge papers be provided by the county clerk to the veteran with proof of identity, under a court order, to a person holding a power of attorney of the veteran, and upon the request of a person appointed over the veteran's estate; provide that discharge papers recorded with the county clerk remain with the clerk as a non-public record, not available for public inspection.
