SB 280/LM/AA (BR 1508) - R. Jones II

     AN ACT relating to retirement.
     Amend KRS 78.530 to mandate that any county fiscal court not participating in the County Employees Retirement System on July 1, 2002, must participate by July 1, 2003.

SB 280 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/AA - Retain original provisions and add a new section of KRS 61.510 to 61.705 to allow state university safety and security personnel to participate in the Kentucky Employees Retirement System.

     HFA (1, J. Barrows) - Amend KRS 61.680 to allow any employee participating in one of the state retirement systems with forty-eight months of service if age sixty-five or older, or at least sixty months of service if under age sixty-five, to have professional staff service time with the Council on Postsecondary Education, if the employee participated in another retirement program, combined with KRS service for the purpose of qualifying service purchases under KRS 61.552(26) and for insurance coverage under KRS 61.702; provide that the Council on Postsecondary Education service shall not count otherwise as service in the KRS and shall not be used for eligibility for the necessary twenty-seven year retirement nor the calculation of final compensation.

     HFA (2, C. Geveden) - Amend KRS 6.515 to delete the requirement that a legislator must be in office on June 21, 2001, in order to purchase service credit for commissioner or military time.

     HFA (3/P, M. Cherry) - Attach provisions of HB 423/GA to SB 280/HCS, extend Senior Status Special Judge provisions to January 31, 2009.
