AN ACT relating to middle school students participating in athletic programs.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to limit time a middle school student can participate in athletic programs to no more than 15 hours per school week, except when school is not in session; prohibit school personnel from penalizing students for absences due to medical or family matters.
SB 54 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Make technical corrections; require the local board of education to adopt a policy defining the criteria under which an excuse for medical and family matters will be granted, including a process by which a student may request an excuse.
