AN ACT relating to financial literacy.
Create a new section of KRS 158 to require financial literacy instruction to be included in courses currently offered in public schools; create a new section of KRS 158 to establish the financial literacy trust fund and identify possible fund uses; require Kentucky Board of Education to promulgate administrative regulations related to disbursal of funds; identify Kentucky Department of Education as administrator of trust fund.
HB 227 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain original provisions except permit, rather than require, financial literacy instruction be included in courses currently offered in public schools; clarify that the financial literacy trust fund will be established and created in the State Treasury; clarify that the fund may receive state appropriations, gifts, grants, federal funds, and any other funds, both public and private; identify that the fund shall be a trust and agency account and made available solely for the purpose and benefits of the Kentucky financial literacy trust fund program.
