     AN ACT relating to athletic trainer licensure.
     Amend various sections of KRS 311.900 to 311.298 to delete certification and create licensure requirements for athletic trainers; delete definition of "athletic trainer" and insert new language; grant the State Board of Medical Licensure the authority to promulgate regulations to require continuing education as a condition for license renewal; delete existing fee schedule and create new one; delete existing qualifications for certification and insert new criteria for licensure based of national certification board requirements; provide inactive license status for retired athletic trainers and include relicensure process; allow licensure reciprocity with other states with equivalent requirements; allow board to sanction and fine athletic trainers who violate standards of practice; exempt from licensure out-of-state trainers temporarily in the Commonwealth for athletic competition or exhibition; amend statutory citations to conform to range.
