AN ACT relating to motor vehicle insurance.
Amend KRS 187.590 to require surrender of a motor vehicle license plate for failure to maintain motor vehicle insurance; require the Transportation Cabinet to notify the chief executive officer of the county to direct any peace officer, including but not limited to constables, to secure the motor vehicle license plate; amend KRS 187.990 to provide that $100 of the fine for failure to surrender a motor vehicle license plate shall be paid to the state or local agency employing the peace officer directed to secure the plate; provide that suspension of a license, registration or motor vehicle license plate for failure to maintain insurance shall not affect the transfer of title if prescribed conditions are met by the person seeking to transfer the vehicle or by the person acquiring the vehicle; amend KRS 304.99-060 to conform.
