AN ACT relating to radiology assistants.
Create various new sections of KRS Chapter 311 to define terms; authorize radiology practitioner assistants and radiology assistants to provide radiological assistance under the supervision of a physician; prohibit a radiology practitioner assistant and radiology assistant from interpreting radiological images, making diagnoses, or prescribing medication or therapies; authorize the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure to promulgate administrative regulations to establish radiology practitioner assistant and radiology assistant certification requirements and procedures, standards, scope of practice, coursework, code of conduct, fees, and fines for violations; establish a seven member Radiology Practitioner Assistant and Radiology Assistant Advisory Committee; amend KRS 311.990 to establish a Class A misdemeanor for an person who falsely represents himself or herself as a radiology practitioner assistant or radiology assistant.
