     AN ACT relating to criminal background checks.
     Amend KRS 216.789, relating to services for senior citizens, to prohibit long-term care facilities and assisted-living communities from allowing a nonemployee who has been convicted of specified offenses from staying with a resident for more than 2 hours per day; exempt family members of the resident from the provision; require long-term care facilities and assisted-living communities to request criminal background information on those individuals; permit long-term care facilities and assisted-living communities to temporarily allow those individuals to stay with a resident pending the receipt of the conviction information; amend KRS 216.793 to require long-term care facilities and assisted-living communities to provide application forms that notify the applicants of the requirement for a criminal background check.
