     AN ACT relating to the study of metropolitan and micropolitan issues.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 6 to establish the Metropolitan and Micropolitan Issues Committee as a permanent subcommittee of the Legislative Research Commission; outline the issues to be reviewed by and define the duties of the committee; provide for the appointment of seven legislative members from each chamber as specified; establish two-year terms for members and provide for vacancies; direct the members of each chamber to select a co-chair from their chamber; grant co-chairs joint responsibilities for setting meetings, approving meeting agendas, and presiding at meetings; require the committee to meet at least four times annually; require a majority of the entire membership to constitute a quorum; require a majority vote of the entire membership for all actions; and require members to be compensated for attendance as provided by KRS 7.090(3) and 7.110(5).

     HFA (1, S. Riggs) - Delete requirement that standing committee chairs serve as members, and require all members of the subcommittee to reside within a metropolitan or micropolitan area.
