AN ACT relating to the taxation of cigarettes.
Create new sections to KRS Chapter 138 to define terms, impose a new tax on tobacco product manufacturers and establish administrative provisions for the tax; amend KRS 131.602 to provide that no additional escrow payments shall be made after those due on April 15, 2007; amend KRS 131.608, 131.610, 131.614, 131.616, 131.618, and 131.626 to conform; repeal KRS 131.606 and 131.620; provide that the proceeds from the tax shall be used for the general expenditures of the Commonwealth; provide that the provisions of the Act are severable; provide that the act takes effect on January 1, 2007.
