SB 216/FN (BR 2231) - A. Kerr

     AN ACT relating to the use of state funds.
     Amend KRS 42.450 to require that any unallotted or unencumbered balances in the Local Government Economic Assistance Fund be invested in accordance with KRS 42.500, relating to the State Investment Commission, instead of in U. S. Government Securities; amend KRS 56.813, relating to improvements made by an agency in its leased premises, to increase from $1,000 to $2,000 the amount over which the agency must obtain the cabinet secretary's approval for the necessary rent increase; increase from $1,000 to $2,000 the amount under which the agency must obtain the cabinet secretary's approval for either direct pay by the state or for a necessary rent increase to cover the cost.

     HFA (1, J. Wayne) - Amend KRS 198A.710 to establish the affordable housing trust fund, define the purposes for which the funds may be used; create a new section of KRS 198A to require the Department of Revenue to deposit each fiscal year any amount in excess of $7 million from delinquent property taxes to the affordable housing trust fund.
