HB 810/LM (BR 1778) - P. Clark
AN ACT relating to public officials.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 64 to find the duties of county clerks, county judges/executive, and sheriffs coextensive with jurisdictions and duties of the Commonwealth and apply their salary limits within the meaning of Section 246 of the Constitution of Kentucky, and apply a salary schedule that will be graduated upon county size, and upon experience of the public officer as well as providing a salary incentive after taking any applicable 40 hour training course; amend various other sections to conform.
HB 810 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/LM - Retain original provisions; add jailers who operate a full service or life safety jail to the list of county officials affected by the provisions of the bill; amend KRS 441.245 to conform; specify that fiscal court members in counties containing an urban-county form of government are not eligible for the $100 per 40 hour increase in training set out in Section 1(7).
HFA (1, J. Adams) - Retain original provisions; delete all references to "life safety jail" throughout the bill.
HFA (2, A. Arnold) - Allow county officials identified in Section 1 to refuse salary increases established in the salary schedule.
HFA (3, J. Vincent) - Retain original provisions; specify that jailers are included in list of eligible public officials, but delete all of the references to jailers "who operate full service or life safety jails"; amend KRS 441.245 to add those jailers who do not have a county jail and who do not transport prisoners to be included in the salary schedule set out in Section 1 of the bill.
SCS/LM - Retain original provisions; delete all references to "life safety jail" throughout the bill.
SFA (1, E. Harris) - Retain original provisions; add coroners to the list of county officials eligible for compensation under the salary schedule set out in Section 1 of this Act; amend KRS 64.185 to conform.
