AN ACT relating to private investigators.
     Create a new chapter of KRS to establish a regulatory and licensing board for private investigators under the Secretary of State; define which activities constitute private investigating; exempt law officers, insurance adjusters, attorneys, and people engaged in providing information in relation to employment by their company; authorize the board to promulgate administrative regulations to implement the provisions of this act; require board members to include the Secretary of State, an attorney from the Attorney General's office, and, appointed by the Governor, a sheriff, a police officer, and three licensed private investigators; require board members to serve three years; require anyone who is engaged in private investigations to be licensed by the board; set requirements for license application and require an examination; require liability insurance; set application procedures and requirements for individuals and firms; require each employee of a firm to be registered with the board; set requirements for such registration; require each branch of a private investigation firm to be licensed; set grounds for license denial; set grounds for license revocation; sets procedures for firm's license transfer in case of death or employment termination; prohibit certain acts by an individual or a firm; authorize the board to conduct disciplinary hearings, issue subpoenas, revoke licenses, and impose fines.
