     AN ACT relating to state-owned vehicles.
     Amend KRS 44.055 to require that the blanket liability insurance policy covering state owned and operated vehicles be no less than $1 million on each vehicle for all damages whether arising out of bodily injury or damage to property as a result of any one accident arising out of ownership, maintenance, use, loading, or unloading, of the insured state vehicle; authorized the commissioner of insurance to promulgate administrative regulations to implement the provisions; delete requirement that the commissioner of insurance purchase the policy upon the recommendation of the secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet; authorize the commissioner of insurance to promulgate administrative regulations to implement this Act.

HB 899 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/FN - Direct state agencies to expend state funds for the purchase of liability insurance on licensed motor vehicles under the blanket policy purchased by the Commissioner of Insurance; permit state agencies to purchase liability insurance under the blanket policy for nonlicensed mobile equipment and for boats owned by the state.
     SFA (1, D. Seum) - Amend to place the responsibility of the provisions of this Act with the secretary of finance and administration rather than the commissioner of insurance; permit rather than mandate the purchase of liability policies.
