SB 368/LM (BR 2083) - B. Jackson

     AN ACT relating to health insurance coverage of city pension fund retirees and their spouses.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 95 to require cities with policemen's and firefighters' pension funds to include retirees and their spouses who are not Medicare eligible or surviving spouses in any health insurance coverage provided city employees under KRS 79.080, upon request, regardless of other insurance coverage.

     HFA (1, K. Stein) - Add new section to require the provision of hospital and medical insurance to police and firefighter retirees and disabled members in urban-counties, as provided; require members to qualify in same manner as for an annuity; require coverage to be set out by board of trustees in contract and regulations; permit the board of trustees to promulgate regulations for operation of program, require the urban-county to provide amount necessary, to be determined by the appropriate actuarial method; require group rates to be provided for spouses, dependents, and disabled children, as provided.
