SB 63 (BR 24) - T. Buford, D. Seum
AN ACT relating to health insurance coverage for autism.
Create new sections of Subtitles 17, 17A, 18, 32, and 38 of KRS Chapter 304 to require insurers to provide health insurance coverage, including respite and rehabilitative care, for autism of a child covered under the policy, subject to a $500 per month per child limitation which does not apply to other health conditions of the child and services for the child not related to the treatment of autism.
SB 63 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, T. Buford) - Amend to require coverage for therapeutic intervention and to define "pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified".
SFA (2, T. Shaughnessy) - Changes definition of "child" from ages 2 to 10 to ages 2 through 21.
HCS - Retain original language of bill and add that coverage includes therapeutic respite and rehabilitative care rather than respite and rehabilitative care.
HFA (1, J. Zimmerman) - Amend to clarify that supplemental policies are not affected.
HFA (2, S. Cave) - Delete Sections 1, 3, 4 and 5 of the Act.
HFA (3, S. Cave) - Amend to define autism by listing categories that include specific characteristics and behaviors including qualitative impairments in social interaction, qualitative impairments in communication, and restricted repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests, and activities.
HFA (4, J. Gooch) - Amend to define autism by listing categories that include specific characteristics and behaviors including qualitative impairments in social interaction, qualitative impairments in communication, and restricted repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests, and activities.
HFA (5, J. Gooch) - Amend to delete provisions for therapeutic respite care.
HFA (6, M. Brown) - Redefine the term "autism" and provide criteria for making a diagnosis of autism in a child.
