     AN ACT relating to education.
     Create new sections of KRS Chapter 160 to provide for school district referendum on posting of Ten Commandments and curriculum on historical impact of religion upon petition of qualified voters in a county at least equaling 25% of the votes cast in the school district at the last preceding general election; provide ballot language; provide for posting of Ten Commandments and curriculum on historical impact of the Ten Commandments upon adoption of referendum by majority of votes cast; create a new section of KRS 158 to provide for instruction on historical impact of the Ten Commandments as it relates to moral, ethical, legal, and societal rules reflected by and related to the Ten Commandments' role in the historical development of the United States and Kentucky, upon adoption of referendum; create new section of KRS Chapter 158 to provide that the Ten Commandments shall be posted by the local school board upon an approved referendum and in the manner directed by the school-based decision making council and shall be purchased with voluntary contributions; repeal KRS 158.178.
