AN ACT relating to school buses.
     Amend KRS 189.125, relating to mandatory seat belt usage, to require all school buses to be equipped with lap and shoulder combination type seat belts for the driver and each seating position on the bus; require buses owned by both public and nonpublic schools to comply; allow persons to be granted an exemption from wearing a seat belt if they provide a written statement from a physician or licensed chiropractor that the person is unable, for medical or physical reasons, to wear a seat belt; prohibit an owner or operator of a school bus from being liable for injuries a passenger on a school bus may receive if the person knowingly and willfully failed to wear a seat belt in violation of these requirements; amend KRS 156.153, 156.154, 156.160, 189.540, 189.990, and 281A.010 to conform; EFFECTIVE July 15, 2002.
