HB 119/CI (BR 1142) - K. Hall
AN ACT relating to eavesdropping and related offenses.
Amend KRS 526.010 to define "eavesdrop" for the purpose of establishing the crimes of eavesdropping and related offenses.
HB 119 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/LM/CI - Delete the provisions of the bill; criminalize monitoring a private conversation as a violation; create exemptions to the crime; include in the crime of divulging illegally obtained information the divulging of information obtained through monitoring a private communication.
HFA (1, K. Hall) - Exempt a journalist engaged in a news gathering activity from being prosecuted for monitoring a private conversation to which the journalist is a party.
HFA (2/Title, K. Hall) - Make title amendment.
HFA (3, M. Weaver) - Create an exception to provisions prohibiting monitoring a private conversation for businesses who monitor conversations as a tool for debt collection.
