AN ACT relating to wages and hours.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 337 to declare a public policy to establish a maximum hourly work day and work week for nonsupervisory employees of a health facility; create definitions for terms; prohibit an employer from working a nonsupervisory employee in excess of an agreed-to predetermined and regularly scheduled daily work shift, or over a forty (40) hour work week except in emergency situations; amend KRS 337.990 to establish penalties and provide that penalties assessed shall be paid to the Kentucky Nursing Incentive Scholarship Fund; amend KRS 314.027 to conform.
HB 732 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Direct the Interim Joint Committee on Labor and Industry to study the length of work shifts of nonsupervisory health facility employees, and to report its finding to the LRC by October 1, 2003.
