     AN ACT relating to prescription drug patient assistance programs.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 194A to establish the Kentucky Patient Prescription Drug Assistance Program within the Department for Public Health; require the program to provide eligibility and application information related to prescription drug patient assistance programs offered by drug companies and to link individuals to community resources to assist with completing documents required by the programs; require the cabinet to establish a toll-free hotline to provide information on the drug programs; require the cabinet to use the e-health network web site to link to information on prescription drug assistance programs; require the e-health web page to have the capability of supporting the completion of applications for the prescription drug patient assistant programs on-line and transmission of the application to health care providers for any required signatures; and permit the cabinet to consult or contract with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, University of Kentucky College of Agriculture Cooperative Extension, local health departments, or other organizations to develop a network of agencies to assist individuals in accessing prescription drug patient assistance programs.

     HCS - Retain original provisions except add libraries and the Kentucky Cancer Caucus to the list of organizations that the Cabinet for Health and Family Services may consult or contract with in developing a statewide network to assist individuals access to free prescription drugs from manufacturers; make technical correction.
