13 KAR 3:030.Qualifications for progressing satisfactorily through a GED® preparation program.

Section 1.

Definitions.

(1)

"GED® Diploma" means the High School Equivalency Diploma required by this administrative regulation.

(2)

"Kentucky Skills U" means the adult education program within the Office of Adult Education.

Section 2.

Satisfactory Progress Requirement. Making progress toward obtaining a General Educational Development (GED®) Diploma shall requiremeans:

(1)

Enrollment in a Kentucky Skills U an Adult Education program on an appropriate instructional level as determined by a reliable, commercially prepared, standardized test designed for adult students;

(2)

Monthly verification of attendance by the local Kentucky Skills Uan adult education program official; and

(3)

A satisfactory progress rating on an annual report documenting student hours of participation, along with their pre- and post-assessment results. The report shallwill be submitted to the local school superintendent for determination of satisfactory progress. If the individual meets the criteria in subsections (1)-(3) of this section, the superintendent shall determine that satisfactory progress has been made.that is based upon periodic testing results by adult education teachers.
