| Summary of Original Version | Amend KRS 532.090 to establish gross mesdemeanors as a new category of misdemeanor offense and set penalty range; amend KRS 530.050 to make flagrant nonsupport a gross misdemeanor; amend KRS 532.100 to provide that gross misdemeanants are state prisoners and that the cost of incarceration in a local jail shall be the responsibility of the Department of Corrections; amend KRS 441.127 to permit local jailers to grant limited service credits against an inmate's sentence for good behavior and educational achievement; amend KRS 532.110, relation to multiple sentences, to prohibit the aggregate of consecutive definite terms from exceeding the longest term authorized for the highest class of crime for which any of the sentences is imposed; amend various sections to conform. |
