| Summary of Original Version | Amend KRS 304.17A-132 to require health benefit plans to provide coverage for hearing aids and related services in accordance with the provisions of the statute and administrative regulations; require the commissioner of insurance to promulgate administrative regulations to set minimum coverage requirements and limits for hearing aids and establish a list of audiologists and specialists in hearing instruments for which health benefit plans shall provide coverage; provide exception for Health Savings Account-qualified High Deductible Health Plans; amend KRS 205.522, 205.6485, 164.2871, and 18A.225 to require Medicaid, KCHIP, self-insured employer group plans provided by the governing board of a state postsecondary education institution, and the state employee health plan to comply with the coverage requirements for hearing aids and related services; apply to health benefit plans issued or renewed on or after the effective date of the Act; EFFECTIVE, January 1, 2023. |
