Summary of Original Version Create new sections of KRS Chapter 61 to define terms; prohibit a public agency from requiring an individual or nonprofit organization to compel the release of personal information, release personal information in possession of the agency, or require a contractor or grantee with the public agency to provide a list of nonprofit organizations to which it provides financial support; create exceptions; create penalties; and include a severability clause; SHORT TITLE.

Summary Retain original provisions, except remove one condition for the response to a lawful request for discovery and permit a party to obtain a protective order barring disclosure of personal information to any person named in the litigation; clarify that the disclosure of personal information from a donation to a nonprofit organization that is affiliated with a public agency and required by statute includes the voluntary submission of personal information from a nonprofit to a public agency for verification purposes as a condition of receiving matching grant funding; make amendments for conformity to the KRS.
