| Summary of Original Version | Create a new section of KRS 156 to require the Commissioner of Education to designate an entity within the department of education to manage interscholastic athletics; require the state board to promulgate administrative regulations and procedures related to interscholastic athletics; allow the department to contract with other entities to carry out identified requirements related to procedures or policies for interscholastic athletics; amend KRS 156.070 to add four nonpublic school representatives to the interscholastic athletics board of control; stagger the terms of nonpublic school members so that one member is elected in each even numbered year; prohibit the Kentucky Board of Education from promulgating rules, administrative regulations, or bylaws related to athletics that impact fewer than all classifications of schools unless a two-thirds majority of schools impacted vote to approve the change; amend KRS 156.070 to delete provisions that allow the Kentucky Board of Education to designate an organization or agency to manage interscholastic athletics. |
