Summary Prohibit any person from engaging in the preparation of technical drawings, installation, repair, alteration, extension, maintenance or inspection of fire sprinklers unless supervised by a certificate holder unless he holds a certificate under KRS 198B.570 or 198B.580; require that the official authorized to issue building or other permits ascertain that the fire sprinkler contractor is duly licensed before the contractor begins design, installation, repair, alteration, extension, maintenance, or inspection of fire protection sprinkler systems; increase administrative fine from $500 to $2,000; establish that any person who practices without a license or holds himself out as a fire sprinkler contractor is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor; require that the executive director inform the Attorney General of unlawful practice within seven days of receiving notice of the unlawful practice; permit the executive director to impose an administrative fine for licensees who violate a cease and desist order; repeal KRS 198B.575, which allows affidavits in lieu of examination.

Summary Retain original provisions, except change the venue where the Attorney General may apply for an order enjoining unlawful acts relating to fire protection sprinkler contractors from the Franklin Circuit Court to the Circuit Court in the county where the violation occurred; declare that any resulting order of the Circuit Court is enforceable and valid throughout the state and is subject to the Rules of Civil Procedure.
