| Summary of Original Version | Create a new section of KRS Chapter 161 to direct the Kentucky Department of Education to convene a group of representatives to develop a professional stages for Kentucky's outstanding teachers and provide them the opportunity for recognition and monetary rewards while remaining as classroom teachers; specify that the professional stages shall be in addition to an adequate base salary schedule for all teachers and shall have four levels; require the plan for the professional stages to be submitted to the Kentucky Board of Education prior to submission to the Interim Joint Committee on Education and the Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations and Revenue by July 1, 2011. |
