Summary of Original Version | Create new sections of KRS Chapter 216B to define terms; require health facilities to implement infection prevention program for high-risk areas and, throughout the facility, by January 1, 2015; require implementation of effective infection prevention programs; require health facilities to report data on health-facility-acquired infections and multidrug-resistant organisms; require the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to serve as the chief administrative officer for data collection; exempt cabinet employees from liability; require the use of an approved method of data collection and reporting; require the secretary to implement a method for patients to report by July 1, 2014; require a report to the Governor and the Legislative Research Commission by January 30 of each year; establish penalties for violations; state legislative findings in noncodified section. |
