Summary | Retain original provisions; change requirements for a disabled placard to one placard issued at no cost that will be valid for six years and may be renewed an unlimited amount of times; specify that placard expires in the applicant's birth month and may be renewed up to 12 months prior to expiration; establish a system for the creation of a decal to be affixed to the placard after renewal; require that a statement to obtain a placard be made on a form prescribed by the Cabinet; allow a parent or guardian of a disabled person apply for a placard on their behalf; allow the Cabinet to issue a placard to an organization; establish a fee of $20 for a second, duplicate, or replacement placard; specify that all of the fee be forwarded to the road fund; require Cabinet to promulgate administrative regulations; amend KRS 189.458 to specify that an initial temporary placard be issued at no charge; establish a fee of $20 for a second, duplicate, or replacement placard; specify that all of the fee be forwarded to the road fund; EFFECTIVE January 1, 2018. |
