| Summary of Original Version | Create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to require the Department of Education to develop, in cooperation with the Transportation Cabinet, a risk reduction program for school bus operators; outline requirements of the program; outline school district implementation requirements; require reporting of assaults; specify that the provisions also apply to public charter schools; require the Department of Education to promulgate administrative regulations; create a new section of KRS Chapter 281 to require the Transportation Cabinet to develop a risk reduction program for commercial bus operators; outline requirements; outline implementation requirements; require reporting of assaults; amend KRS 281.990 to establish an initial penalty of $5,000 for failure to implement the program required; if program is not implemented 14 days after the initial penalty is assessed, an additional fee of $250 per day shall be assessed until implementation. |
