Summary of Enacted Version Amends KRS 158.162 to require that local boards of education maintain a portable automated external defibrillator in a public, readily accessible, well-marked location in all school buildings, including elementary school buildings, and at school-sanctioned athletic practices and competitions, and to require that an annual report on compliance with portable automated external defibrillator requirements be submitted to the Kentucky Department of Education; and amends KRS 158.1622 to expand the School AED Fund to expand the medical devices the fund can be used to purchase to include medical devices to diagnose, prevent, or treat a medical condition that is harmful to student athletes.
