Summary of Original Version Amend KRS 67.830 to require inclusion of procedures for the dissolution of the charter county government and to require that any city that did not vote in favor of the charter county plan be exempted from the charter plan; amend KRS 67.910 to require inclusion of procedures for the dissolution of the unified local government; amend KRS 67.918 to require that any city that did not vote in favor of the unified local government plan be exempted from the unified local government.

Summary Amend to require that a majority of the unincorporated territory and a city or cities, totally 50 percent of urban population, may vote in favor charter county government, or that a majority in the unincorporated territory and the residents of the most populous city in the county may vote to form a charter county, require all cities voting in the affirmative to join charter county, subject to certain restrictions, any city voting in the negative shall not be required to join the charter county; amend to require that a majority of the unincorporated territory and a city or cities, totally 50 percent of urban population, may vote in favor unified local government, or that a majority in the unincorporated territory and the residents of the most populous city in the county may vote to form a unified local government, require all cities voting in the affirmative to join the unified local government, subject to certain restrictions, any city voting in the negative shall not be required to join the unified local government.
