Summary of Original Version Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to define "acquired brain injury," "outcome," and "treatment"; provide that a health benefit plan that provides coverage for treatment of a post-acute acquired brain injury shall be exempt from the assessment required by KRS 304.17B-021 if medical, physical, cognitive, and affective behavioral rehabilitation treatment of the insured is covered; require that the covered treatment be provided at one of the listed types of licensed and accredited facilities for a minimum of 60 visits per calendar year, and that coverage shall not be denied solely because the facility is not geographically proximate to the insured; require the commissioner of the Department of Insurance to promulgate administrative regulations to implement these provisions.
