Summary of Original Version Amend KRS Chapter 304.17A-165 to prohibit insurers from requiring the use of mail-order pharmacies, except for specialty drugs which cannot be provided by retail pharmacies, and prohibit a difference in cost-sharing between retail and mail-order; define specialty drugs; amend KRS 18A.225 to require any plan offered by the Personnel Cabinet to prohibit the requirement of mail-order pharmacies, and to prohibit a difference in cost-sharing.; amend KRS 205.522 to require a managed care organization that provides Medicaid benefits from requiring the use of mail-order pharmacies, except for specialty drugs which cannot be provided by retail pharmacies, and prohibit a difference in cost-sharing between retail and mail-order

Summary Amend original provisions to refer to "contract retail pharmacy"; clarify language relating to terms and condition requirements for participation; amend to prohibit an insurer which has a specialty drug network from discriminating against a contract pharmacy filling a specialty drug prescription if it meets the terms and conditions of the provider contract.
