| Summary of Enacted Version | Amends KRS 26A.140 to state that the guardians ad litem shall receive a fee fixed by the court and paid by the Finance and Administration Cabinet; creates a new section of KRS Chapter 403.715 to 403.785 to require appointment of a guardian ad litem for any unrepresented minor who is an alleged victim of domestic violence and abuse, or who is named as a respondent or petitioner in a petition for an emergency protective order or domestic violence order, and to provide that a violation of an interpersonal protective order or a domestic violence order may constitute a criminal offense if the offender is an adult or a public offense if the offender is a juvenile; and creates a new section of KRS Chapter 456 to require appointment of a guardian ad litem for any unrepresented minor who is an alleged victim of dating violence and abuse, sexual assault, or stalking or who is named as a respondent or petitioner in a petition for an interpersonal protective order. |
