Summary of Original Version | Create a new section of KRS Chapter 218A.600 to 218A.650 to define terms; create a new section of KRS 218A.600 to 218A.650 to prohibit the discharging, disposal, flushing, pouring or emptying into public wastewater systems or septic systems of unused medications in solid form, and to establish a $500 fine for each violation; provide that the funds collected are to be forwarded to the environmental trust fund established in KRS 224.01-200; create a new section of KRS Chapter 218A.600 to 218A.650 to require nursing homes, residential health care facilities, home health care agencies, hospice programs, institutions, facilities or agencies providing services to persons with mental illnesses, and institutions, facilities, or agencies providing services to persons with developmental disabilities to modify their written medication protocols; create a new section of KRS Chapter 218A.600 to 218A.650 to require agencies with regulatory oversight for certain health care institutions to be responsible for ensuring those institutions' compliance; create a new section of noncodified language to cite this Act as the "Safe Pharmaceutical Disposal Act". |
