Summary of Original Version Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to provide for the written assignment of substance abuse or mental health treatment benefits to a substance abuse and mental health facility or other health care provider located in this state that provides both substance abuse and mental health treatment services to the public; amend KRS 304.14-250, 304.17-130, and 304.18-090 to conform; create a new section of Subtitle 38A of KRS Chapter 304 to require limited health service organizations to comply with assignment provisions; amend KRS 18A.225 and 164.2871 to require the state employee health plan and the state postsecondary education institutions, respectively, to comply with assignment provisions; apply assignment provisions to both insurance policies in effect and insurance policies issued, delivered, or renewed on or after effective date.
