Summary | Amend Section 1 to allow special purpose governmental entities and special district to post a required advertisement on a webiste operated by the local government establishing the special purpose governmental entity or special district; add a new subsection to require a local government using the alternative publication procedures of the section to also submit the contents of the full advertisement to the newspaper for general information purposes and allow the newspaper to publish it at its choosing, but without cost to the local government; add and amend KRS 68.245, 132.023, 132.027, and 160.470 to extend the time period for when a taxing authority has to hold a public hearing when setting a tax rate above the compensating tax rate after the publication notice has been published from a maximum of 10 days to 21 days. |
